The passing of a shipmate
My name is Gerren Ryan Rucker and I am proud to be the grandson of Raymond Rucker. Raymond was a Machinist Mate and spent a few years in the engine room of the SS 222 Bluefish. I grew up with stories about shipboard life and his eyes would light up as he recalled his time on the boat.
I regret to say that Raymond Rucker passed away this week on October 1st at his home in Kingman, Az. He had a long battle with cancer and finally passed. Raymond was the most incredible man and I was blessed to be able to spend so much time with him growing up, and to have him as a grandfather. H e spent his entire life serving others and his family to his final days.
Raymonds memorial will be held at Suttons Funeral Home on October, 9th in Kingman, AZ. at 10am. If anyone has stories or pictures of Raymond during his service on the Bluefish that you would be willing to share with our family it would be greatly appriciated.
                                               Sincerly,
                                          Gerren R. Rucker
